New St Paul Sick Leave
St. Paul Ordinance Chapter 233
On February 3, 2016 the Saint Paul City Council unanimously passed a resolution convening a task force to discuss the possibility of extending earned sick and safe time to all employees in Saint Paul. Earned sick and safe time refers to accrued hours of paid leave provided by an employer to employees in order for the employee to address their health and safety needs or those of family members for whom they are responsible. Residents, employees, community organizations, and business owners have had extensive opportunities to provide input on earned sick and safe time regulations at community meetings and public hearings, on Open Saint Paul, multiple online surveys, and through additional outreach opportunities.
As part of the oridinance, St Paul businesses are required to post a notice to all employees notifying them of the Employee Sick and Safe Time rules and rights. Download and post the poster here.
